Coyote Buttes North (The Wave) is a small part of the 112,500 acre Paria Canyon-Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness. It is a geological wonder because of its sandstone formations.
The route to the Wave is a strenuous 6.4 mile round-trip hike with no provisions on the way.
You need to have a 24 hour permit from Recreation.gov to enter this supervised area. There is a parking lot, which is very close to the town of Moab, Utah.
The Milky Way is best photographed in the Spring or Fall and this time has also the best temperatures.
You need to bring a wide angle lens and a tripod . The daylight shots may profit from a polarizer.
