Hi everyone, we're so glad you decided to join us in building this resource of amazing photo locations and subjects around the world. Submitting your own Wonder for consideration is easy.

Please submit your Wonders to our community Forum. (Don't submit them to the comments section of this post!) When asked for a category, choose "Submit Your Wonders." You'll have to create a free account with us to post to our forum, but that's easy to do, just follow the online prompts which will guide you through the process.
All of our Wonders posts follow the same basic format, organizing information into several basic categories: Why a Wonder, Where, When, Photography, Learn More, and then finally the copyright notice. So, when submitting your Wonder, do it exactly as we do it. Also—and this is important—please don’t use the first person when writing your submission (as in: "I think this place is a Wonder because..."). Here's a good example of the basic format that we use: https://www.photowonders.com/post/sumatran-orangutans
These categories should be fairly self-explanatory, but below you can find more information on each:
Why a Wonder: This is the teaser hook that draws readers in. You should include some inspirational information, explaining exactly why your Wonder is special. Please note that we prefer that the Wonders are specific, rather than general; so, for example, don't submit a Wonder for "Canada;" that's an entire country that has thousands of Wonders! It's probably best to avoid submitting a Wonder for an entire park as well (for example, there are multiple photo wonders in Death Valley National Park, so we wouldn't want a Wonder that is general for the entire park).
Where: Be as specific as you can, as it helps people more easily find the Wonder (and it helps us when we plot a point on the map). You don't need to include directions, postal addresses, GPS coordinates, or anything like that. But, some general location information is helpful, for example listing the closest town or city to the Wonder, or mentioning what park it is in.
When: This category is to describe the best times to visit or photograph the Wonder. If it's the same anytime of year, then say so.
Photography: This section should describe generally the photography experience. There's no need to go into great detail here about where to go or equipment needed, but some general advice about the experience is helpful.
Learn more: This is the place to include links to any helpful online resources about the Wonder. Please don't abuse outgoing links to promote unrelated products and services.
Copyright notice: Show us how you'd like your copyright displayed. It's okay to include an outgoing link to your personal website or online photography portfolio.
Here is some other useful information about our submission process, including our terms and conditions:
Guidelines for image submission: Please upload jpeg images no larger than 2000px on the longest side. And please only upload your own photos, copyright theft will not be tolerated. Discreet watermarks are okay. Also: we need a horizontal image as your opening image, because that’s the only option for a nicely-cropped opening image on our site. Since this is the first image people will see, make sure it really stands out!
What happens if your submission is promoted to the Wonders list? Not every submission will be promoted to our official list, but if it is, we'll let you know so you can spread the good news!
Our editors reserve the right to edit your text before we post. We will lightly edit to fix any typos and to conform to our house style, if necessary.
You retain all copyrights to your work. If your submission is promoted, we're only going to use your photos and text to create a Wonders post, and to promote that post through our mailing list and social media accounts. We won't use your photos or text for any other purposes.
Submission implies consent to these terms and conditions.
We're looking forward to seeing your Photo Wonders!
