This may be an unusual submission for a landscape- and wildlife-focused group, but it's my favorite photo of 2022. Think of it as a variation on a bird-in-flight image . . . I take classes and perform at an aerials studio, and I've become the studio's (volunteer) photographer for our performances. This image was taken during a live performance (dress rehearsal), so the performer was dancing and spinning on an aerial sling. I was fortunate to capture this great pose, and the lighting and background came together beautifully for an excellent composition. (The diagonal lines in the background are shadows cast by the poles of the freestanding aerial rig.) The image only needed some cropping and global adjustments to white balance, highlights, shadows, and clarity. 123mm, 1/500 sec. at f/2.8, ISO 800.
