This image was captured at Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve immediately after an early Fall storm, The morning's high winds and rain threatened the entire morning. Then a sudden but brief break presented this opportunity. The wet sand had developed a thin crust that reflected amazing colors in the filtered light. And the dry sand fell like waterfalls as the wind slowly dried that crust, which then cracked and slid away.
