My favorite image of the year was this whimsical looking sandstone boulder with a ring of gypsum that
seems to look upon the cliffs behind with longing, as it has for eons now. This image was taken a half hour before sunrise with a 30 sec. exposure. I've never seen anything glow in the pre-sunrise light as well as these Moenave sandstone monoliths.
