I spent several days in Badlands National Park in September, 2022. The first few mornings were overcast with no golden hour sunrise. Finally, this morning there was better early morning light, but not a really good golden hour. Clouds on the eastern horizon resulted in the sun not peeking above the clouds until well after normal sunrise time. I shot this image by hiking up a grassy slope above the main road through the park. The title of the image comes from the curved portion of that road, which I included near the left center. I considered brightening the image a little more, especially the portion on the left in shadow, but I liked the shadow/light contrast across the image as it is now.
