I have a thing for old dead trees with character. When I saw this one along the Waterpocket Fold in Capitol Reef National Park, Utah, I knew I had to incorporate it into a photo. This is one of a number of compositions I shot with this particular tree. In this composition, I positioned my camera so as to separated the three main trees on the right side and made sure to capture the entire shadow of that dead tree skeleton, with the snow covered peak in the far background.
